This is the sowing machine. Our chillis start life here. The
seeds are sucked up onto the tips of hypodermic needles and
inserted into seed punnets containing milled pine bark as the
medium.
|

Aubrey inspects the needle tips. Each tip must attach itself
to a chilli seed. |

Satisfied
with the machine, let the seeding insertion begin. |

Alexandra
makes sure that her chilli babies are well fed and nurtured.
Alex takes care of all the chilli farm's plants from germination
to maturity. |

The seed trays are placed into a 30 Degrees C humidifying germination
room. |

Galvin and Aubrey inspect the seedling trays for the first signs
of germination. |

This
clever gadget is called a "Fogger". It emits a super-fine mist
into the germination room to keep the babies in so called "seed
heaven". |

The babies are moved from the germination room into the growing
tunnel to develop into strong and healthy plants. |

The
Great Chilli Farmer's wife inspects the new babies for any unusual
signs. |

The chilli plants are fed once a day using a sophisticated fertigation
system. We can feed all of the plants at once with whatever
we feel they need at that particular stage. |

Just
look at how magnificently our newest babies are doing. These
are the 2000/2001 French Wax crop. |

Our
2000/2001 Turkish Cayenne crop doing beautifully |

One
of the most beautiful and unique chillis, the Bishops Crown
has to become part of your collection. |

My
absolute favorite chilli, the Bolivian Rainbow doing well. Bright
purple pods to start, fading to yellow, then orange, and finally
to deep scarlet with a bite like a mule! |

Pueblo
is unique in its aproach to life. It loves to face the sun directly.
Each branch develops a cluster of chillis at it's end and they
all point skywards. Classic! |

This
batch of New Mexican chillis are star performers. Late out of
the soil, but now look at them grow! Should be an early seed
bearer. |
Just
look how proudly John looks at the new Amazon chilli seedlings.
This seasoned nursery man is blessed with green fingers. |

Notice
how our babies feet are kept off the ground. The floors are
disinfected twice a week to keep any pests or fungi's away.
|

Our
tunnel systems are of the best in the world. What a way to start
life off as a chilli plant. |

Meet
Galvin our production manager. He likes to be kept in contact
with his babies at all times. Where on earth did you get that
fantastic cap from Galvin? "I bought it online form the best
chili site on the planet (www.chillifarm.com)" |
